yeah I think she have problems with sinuses, that's why she must blow her nose during the match and that's why she's breathing hard sometimes. I think Nole had same problems before but he went on surgery and now it's all fine, I think she should do the same.

Well JJ won yesterday, which I was hoping for!! And in straight sets, which I didn't expect, but it was still a very close match, JJ won 7-5, 7-5!! I just wish for once she could win 6-1, 6-2 or something, so I don't have to get so stressed and worried through out the match!! Here's an article about the match:
Jankovic Escapes Zheng in Third Round
By Aimee Berg Friday, August 29, 2008
Much could be learned from watching the No. 2 seed, Jelena Jankovic, defeat Zheng Jie of China in the third round, 7-5, 7-5. Both of the two-time Olympians displayed deft footwork, a variety of shots, including sharply angled strokes off both the forehand and backhand sides, and flexibility that often ended in nearly full splits.
But the match was also a horrendous display of holding serve. In the first set, Zheng was broken four times, and Jankovic was broken three times, meaning only five of the 12 games were won on serve. Ditto for the second set.
By failing to control their service games, the players unintentionally heightened the suspense over who would advance to the fourth round.
The ultimate nail-biter came in the final game of the second set.
Jankovic was leading 6-5 and served for the match. The Serb had a chance to end it at 40-30, but her shot sailed long. Over the course of 11 deuces, Zheng failed to convert seven break points, and Jankovic failed to capitalize on four match points. The 2-hour, 10-minute battle ended when Zheng's forehand hit the net.
Jankovic joked about the 11 deuces afterwards. "Yeah, I wanted to go to 20," she said. "Just kidding. I'm happy that I managed to get the win in two sets."
Jankovic's victory marked the third time she defeated Zheng in four meetings.
Next, Jankovic faces the winner of No. 14-seeded Victoria Azarenka of Belarus vs. No. 21-seeded Caroline Wozniacki.
Jankovic's best finish at the US Open was her 2006 run to the semifinals, where she lost to Justine Henin in three sets. Last year, Venus Williams ousted Jankovic in the quarterfinals in three sets.
A few hours after Jankovic defeated Zheng in singles, she was also scheduled to play mixed doubles with Fernando Verdasco of Spain.
"I don't know how that will work," Jankovic said. "But I think it's great for me to practice on my serves and try to transfer that to the singles matches."
Now there's a point well taken.

var pageAbstr = encodeURIComponent("In a third-round match where both players barely held serve, No. 2-seeded Jelena Jankovic advanced past Zhang Jie, 7-5, 7-5.");
Jeez that looks painful!!

Jankovic & Dementieva into semis |
Jankovic returns to the semis after also making the last four in 2006 |
Second seed Jelena Jankovic reached the semi-finals of the US Open with a straightforward 6-1 6-4 win over Austrian Sybille Bammer.
In a match moved from Arthur Ashe to Louis Armstrong Stadium because of the late-running Roger Federer match, Jankovic was always in control.
She goes on to face Olympic champion and fifth seed Elena Dementieva.
The Russian made short work of her quarter-final clash with Switzerland's Patty Schnyder, winning 6-2 6-3.
Both Dementieva and Jankovic have yet to win a Grand Slam title but could become the new world number one if they reach the final at Flushing Meadows.
Dementieva has won 11 matches in a row following her success in Beijing and she looked in good shape against 15th seed Schnyder.
The Russian controlled things from the baseline as she broke twice to take the first set and held off Schnyder in the second to complete an impressive win.
Her consistency was the key to taking the first set, and some thumping returns also put pressure on the Schnyder serve throughout.
Only once, when the Swiss broke back to make it 3-3 in the second set, did Dementieva seem under pressure but she broke back again immediately and did not lose another game.
"We had a big fight in the second set and I lost my serve so it was a very, very important moment for me to break her again," Dementieva said.
"I'm very happy that I was able to do that. I expected a tough match against her and I am pleased with the way I played.
"I am very excited to be in the semis but I'm sure I need to improve my game and play a better match if I want to get to the final."
Jankovic raced through the first set against Bammer in 33 minutes, then traded six breaks with the left-hander in the second.
But despite failing to serve out the match, Jankovic broke in the following game to move within one win of a first Grand Slam final.
"It will be a really tough one but I have beaten her before," Jankovic said of her semi-final against Dementieva, against whom she has a 4-3 record.
"I will really try my best and hopefully I can make my first Grand Slam final."

Woohooo!! JJ is into the semi-finals of the US Open!! Now she just has to win 2 more matches and she will be the champion!! I really, really hope she can do it!! Anyway, I am confident for her match against Elena - it will be a tough and exciting match, but I think she will come through it victorious!

I really hope she can do it too...I just want to see her in final, cos she's never been in grand slam final so far, and than we'll see...Elena is in great form but if jelena can preform her best, step out and play her best tennis I think she has more qualitys than Elena, rememeber one thing: Elena is baseline player she don't know how to play volleys, and if she must play much shots she'll make mistake for shure, and we all know that nobody putts the ball back in play better than Jelena so I think here is her big chance of winning. Both are not so powerfull servers so I think we'll see alot of ups and downs, and breaks in match....we'll see.......C'MON JELENA!!!!! QUEEN OF NEW YORK!!!!
