Yes, Ana did strggle today, but she showed great courage,and conviction to win the second set and then go on to win the third set. Her close encounter with Dechy (who is a talented player) will only build her (Ana's) confidence.

Maria will do well and she could win, but something tells me that Ana will clinch it.

Maybe you're right, and right now Ivanovic is tougher than Masha but...I think María hasn't finished her wins this year, there are lots of tournaments to play, and Masha will win several ones, for example...Wimbledon?

The same could be said about Maria and her first round matc, she hardly play a high ranking tennis player.

For what I've seen since the beginning of Wimbledon, I just can say that Ana was hard yesterday and on grass it's more difficult when she meets low ranked (like Maria on clay)

We'll see next match with Zeng but if Ana hasn't recovered all strength (mentally and physically), sure it will be complicated for her...again

 For Maria, I wait her second match but for me she's better than Ana on grass it's obvious !

its not just obvious its a FACT  that masha is better than all women players atm... just take a look behind - when henin was on the tour - maria just started playing better after her injuries and made it to the top... i dont say that ana or jelena or whatever are bad - but masha will be dominating as federer in men tenis ... IF she can avoid injuries like 07 - this is also a point why players like ana got on top of the ranking - becuase maria couldnt play her tenis, rather giving up or revoking her tournaments...

 Maria won't be, if she keeps crashing out of Grand Slams to player's ranked 151 in the world.

i dont think ana is better then maria but at certain stretches ana is way more consistent. but im not saying ana is better. maria has been my favorite since day 1.
