    Maria Kirilenko

What is happening to her? It seems like she's already heading downhill even before reaches the top. Wimbledon first round exit! Surely, she can do better than that!

yeah she's really dropped off lately. she's only a few months older than Maria, so she still has plenty of time to make a name for herself.

I don't know why you guys are wasting your time with Kirilenko - there's nothing about her that stands her apart from 100 other 'journeywomen'

That's what people say until someone becomes famous.

I know what her problem is. She hasn't made the switch to a Prince O3 racquet!

There's a commercial in the US that shows a bunch of pros and their rankings before and after they started using a Prince racquet. and the punch line was "Have you made the switch?" so this is kind of a joke. and I felt I needed to explain it because I'm sure a lot of you probably haven't seen the commercial.

First Lucie Safarova, then Jelena Jankovic. I think getting a new coach really helped revive her career. Sadly, she lost today but at least we can see progress.

Maria defeated big serving Elena Bovina 7-6 (10-8) 6-3

The tie break was nail biting. She came back from 5-3 in the first set and would rally back from 5-1 in the tie-break (saving four set points in total) for a 76(8) 63 victory.

Eric van Harpen is working wonders with her. Never seen her so confident as this.

The 2nd round match will be much tougher against Marion Bartoli, the recent Wimbledon finalist.

    Good luck Masha K

    Re:

She is on a good way now.

She knocked out Bartoli and perhaps she can do the same
    with Ivanovic.

    No, please not....not Ivanovic :D
