Dementieva's got a decent chance in miami. i mean the way she booted ivanovic and kuznetsova at dubai was impressive.
    GO MASHA!!!

    Elegant Elena

She defeated K Bondarenko 60 64. Next up will be Dominika Cibulkova, who she's never played. Now that match I'd really like to see!  Cool Eurosport coverage begins on Monday, so I'm keeping fingers crossed for scheduling that may result in a stream.

    absolutely!!!

If she plays at the Dubai level, y'all may be right. The way Mauresmo & Jankovic both just barely squeezed through today does make the way to the final look quite do-able. Cool

    Re: Elegant Elena

So Elena bageled Dominika in the first set in about 15 minutes and was on her way in the second when the damned rain interfered Storm Though they didn't stop playing for long, I think it threw Elena off. Then we got the double faults and all that and the next two sets (she dropped the second in a tiebreak)  was one of those long, tedious battles over two hours. 60 67 64.

Hot, muggy, slow and tedious seemed the rule there today--which is Florida as I know it, plus it stinks of swamp & dead fish. Stick out tongue As late as things have dragged on, I don't know if Chaki will get to play tonight or not.

Chaki is playing. She won't get off the court until after midnight Florida time.

Well, pfffff! Chaki lost. Sad Crappy weather, endless delays--just a bad day all around. While most of the Russian girls got through, I think they all had difficulties. Anyway, Elena will then play Sabine Lisicki of Germany.

    Re: Elegant Elena

And dismissed Sabine forthwith: 63 62 with only four double faults--and that with some fairly problematic wind.Cool However, only 49% first serve percentage--need to bring that up to confront JJ. So now, thanks to the screwed-up system down there (which we're supposed to just accept) unless they figure they've gotta cover JJ 'cause their pet Serb lost, Elena is through to the quarters without being seen on TV one damned time! Angry That's just wrong. Hey, FSN, ATP, y'all "masters" this! lol

Good luck also to Vera Z tonight, after which half the quarterfinalists would be Russian, yah, yah, yah.

Oh yes, oh yes (wishful dreaming?) NOT!!! Elena already Top-10 and maybe Dinara, though she has 140 points 2 defend. Party!!!

Wish Elena good luck against Jankovic, feel so sorry that I could not see her,

    Eurosport didn't show her .

I'm afraid they will show the Williamses.

    Re: From Elena's site

Good Luck to Elena as well! Jankovic needs to drop her first serve percentage and let the pathetic second serve in though. Just try not to think about the fact that Elena only won 6 games in her previous 2 matches with JJ.
    GO MASHA!!!
