    Re: Maria's 2009 Tour

    Philli:

If you keep track of events on the Homepage, I think its pretty clear what Maria's tour plans are for 2009.

A Tour of as many photoshoots as possible at 1 million dollars a session.   Tennis has quite obviously taken a backseat now, I think we will see her retiring next year if she has a few bad results, claiming that the shoulder just hasn't healed.

Her Ego has gone to her head. Well why not.  Why should she sweat her butt off for the measly prize money when she earns $500,000 a week from promotions.

I hate to say it,but you're probably right - some bad results and injury problems over the next year or two and she probably would retire early...

    Re: Maria's 2009 Tour

She said she wot retire before age of t 25. The only time i heard she would retire is if sh can furthfill all her tennis dreams like Henin did for herself. I still think she will be playign tennis untul the 2012 Olympics in London

    Re: Maria's 2009 Tour

Look, this is what I found on Wikipedia

Sharapova has often implied that she desires an early retirement. Following the retirement of 25-year-old Justine Henin, Sharapova said, "If I was 25 and I'd won so many Grand Slams, I'd quit too."[85] In an interview after the 2008 Australian Open, she balked at the idea of playing for another ten years, saying that she hoped to have "nice husband and a few kids" by then.[86]

    Re: Maria's 2009 Tour

She always says that when asked about 'retirements'. She also said the same thing when Kim retired from tour. I know it's sad to hear something like that from Maria but I guess that's what she wants to doSadSmile

Yep, Maria always tells the truth.   Remember after her humiliating defeat at Wimbledon she was asked if she was top fit.  She replied.. 'uh huh'.

Then caught the next plane to Paris.

    Re: Maria's 2009 Tour

Girls, girls, you're both wrong. She took the plane to Dover, dived into the channel, took a bicycle in Calais towards Brussels for a delecious "frites au chocolat"-sandwich and then took the tricycle of a baby to the Central Station; from where she took the train to le métro of Paris where she then run by foot towards the Eiffeltower. She jumped with a parachute, took a taxi and was very surprised they drove left in Paris. Because she was still in London she took.............okidoki?Automobile

    Re: Maria's 2009 Tour

retired or ot...i think she can do what she want,,i mean, she already won 3 GS (it will cool if she win the french one), but still, she showed what she can do on the court...and if she want to do her life away from it...well...she has gift from it..so.....go on!!

Regarding her schedule, she should start in Brisane International,,,she need to check out if the rehab work as it suppose to, and know if she is able to defend the AO title...i dont, its just my thought
