I'm surprised y'all have just now picked up on all this. Kiri lost to Vera Z in the first round. No surprise, well as Vera is playing. The match is still there is you want to watch it. Wozniacki beat Chaki but then Petrova dismissed Caroline. However, Nadia must play Elena D tomorrow. At Kremlin Cup, Russians must play Russians often. Difficult to cheer now, as 5 of the 8 quarterfinalists are Russian & 4 or them are playing one another.

Congrats to JJ. The drama queen was in rare form today--ailments & trainer calls abounded. My, my. If Dushevina could keep her at bay for that long, how will she ever get past Pennetta?

I was so scared that she was gonna get knocked out cos she lost the first set and then I think she was a break down in the second, but she managed to hang in there and fight on!!  I am very proud of her - she is doing really well!!!  Congrats JJ!!!

Well I am looking forward to Elena V Petrova!!  A few months ago I would have said Elena would win for sure, but now I am not so sure cos Petrova is in very good form.  But hopefully Elena will win, after all she is the only Russian player left that I like!!
