Re: China Open -- Beijing, September 24-28
OMG Dee I've just seen your post on the JJ thread. We think the same!
Oh Kiri won, that's great! If tomorrow JJ wins in China, Kiri in Korea and oh of course Nole in Thailand that would make Sunday my favourite day of the week so fingers crossed for all of them.
Btw I posted on the "Live Streams" thread when Eurosport is broadcasting the other semi and the Beijing final.

ilnur86:And not think about this because there get Vera and Svetlana
Hi, ilnur86 from Kazan. Indeed, all four semifinalists deserved applause for their hard work. Finally, it was just "the breaks"--as we say.
Davai, Svetlana!

(1) Jelena Jankovic (SRB) d. (4) Svetlana Kuznetsova (RUS) 63 62
Jeca woooooooooooon!!!!!!!! Gosh I'm sooooooooo happy right now, my Jeca won!!!! . This day is almost perfect: Kiri won in Korea (unfortunately she lost in doubles 63 60), Andy won in Beijing, just my Nole had to ruin everything losing his final. But still Jeca won wich is all that matters. Gooooooo JJ get the #1 spot back an hold it!!!

beni:
Slav’sya, otyechyestvo is the transliteration of "Sing to the Motherland"-- the opening words of the Hymn of the Russian Federation (and former Soviet anthem).
Despite Kuzi's loss of today's Beijing, the Russian women have been doing excellent: The Olympic troika led by Elena D; successful defense of the Fed Cup led by Kuzi; all Dinara's victories, most recently Tokyo; Vera Z in Guangzhou; Kiri in Seoul--even Nadia is on the rise again.
On to Stuttgart!

Hey PAULY you now RUS language? but now himn begins that: Россия-священная наша держава... Now with word "Славься отечество" begin refrain.
Спасибо, ilnur86. Somehow I like the old lyrics as well... I once visited Moskva and Sankt-Peterburg--Leningrad that was. I know things have changed--yet not, for Russia has always been Russia...
But нет, I know little Russian. I do know how to look things up and I try to get the gist with online translators like "babelfish".

Re: China Open -- Beijing, September 24-28
Like I told ilnur86, I know almost nothing, but I messaged you with the few words I do know. Here is Masha's name:
Мари́я Ю́рьевна Шара́пова -- Maria Yuryevna Sharapova
Елена Дементьева -- Elena Dementieva (Dee-MEN-tje-va) We do not transliterate Elena’s name correctly at all. Actually, she pronounces it more like Yelena Dement’eva.
Анна Чакветадзе -- Anna Chakvetadze (CHAK-vay-tad-zay)
